Aziza Claudia Gibson-Hunter is an abstract mixed media artist. Although her work is abstract, it usually has a narrative which is informed by inquiry and study.  She earned a BS in art education, from Temple University, and a MFA in printmaking from Howard University. She is currently on the executive board of Black Artists of DC, and a member of STABLE, an artist community as well as WOAUA, Dandelion, and Thought, three Black women’s collectives.  She has exhibited widely, with an emphasis on her work being accessible to underemployed and working-class communities.  Her studio is in Washington DC.
